เนื้อเรื่อง
ในปี 2000 โลกค้นพบการมีอยู่ของเวทมนตร์จากมิติอื่นพร้อมสิ่งชั่วร้ายและปีศาจที่รุกรานโลก ประเทศต่างๆ พยายามใช้เวทมนตร์รวมกับเทคโนโลยีเพื่อต่อสู้ แต่ก็ไม่สำเร็จ สหรัฐอเมริกาเริ่มโครงการฝึกมนุษย์ให้ใช้เวทมนตร์ จนเกิด "มหาจอมเวทย์คนแรก" ผู้มีพลังมหาศาลและเป็นตัวแทนมหาอำนาจของโลก ประเทศอื่นๆ จึงต้องฝึกกองทัพพ่อมดเพื่อต่อสู้กับปีศาจ

อังกฤษเลือกวิธีที่ต่างออกไป โดยก่อตั้งสถาบัน Celesta เพื่อฝึกเด็กที่มีพรสวรรค์จากทั่วโลก การทดสอบสุดท้ายในปราสาทอันตราย เต็มไปด้วยปีศาจและเทพเจ้าโบราณ นักเรียนต้องต่อสู้จนถึงที่สุด ใครที่เอาชีวิตรอดได้จะกลายเป็นมหาจอมเวทย์

WIZARD
STORY  X is a Dark Fantasy 2D Action Sidescolling game.
In 2000, the world discovered the existence of magic from another dimension, along with evil and demons invading the world. Countries tried to use magic combined with technology to fight, but to no avail. The United States began a project to train humans to use magic, which led to the birth of the “First Great Mage”, who had immense power and represented the world’s superpower. Other countries had to train an army of wizards to fight the demons. England chose a different approach, establishing the Celesta Institute to train gifted children from around the world. The final test was in a dangerous castle, full of demons and ancient gods. The students had to fight to the end. Whoever survived would become a Great Mage.
